Allegheny Cemetery Historical Association

The Allegheny Cemetery Historical Association was established on March 17, 1980, as an educational and charitable organization. Allegheny Cemetery encompasses 300 acres with over 15 miles of roadways.

Approximately 120,000 dead are interred there in graves, crypts, and urns. The Cemetery houses generations of Pittsburghers, including graves of soldiers who fought in the French and Indian War, which were moved there from Trinity Cathedral.

Some of the interred had worldwide fame, while others were known throughout Pittsburgh. Notables include Stephen Foster, Rosey Rowswell, General John Neville, Lillian Russell, Josh Gibson, and Don Brockett.
