Zelienople Historical Society

The Zelienople Historical Society maintains a museum in Passavant House with many of the original articles brought by Zelie.

Society's History Club activities vary and have included member demonstrations and lectures, guest speakers, research on local landmarks and history, and field trips to other local museums.

Among educational programs available to the public are special tours for local school children conducted each spring.

The Zelienople Historical Society office and the Lester Mohr Library are in one of our two historic house museums, the Passavant House, 243 South Main Street, in Zelienople, PA.

Our second historic house museum, the Buhl House, is located at 221 South Main Street in Zelienople, PA.

Zelienople, PA, is approximately 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA, and 90 miles south of Erie, PA.

Museums or Landmarks

Zelienople Historical Society acquired the Passavant house in 1975, and today this historic building serves as a museum, the Lester Mohr Library, and the headquarters office for the society.
The Buhl House is the second historical house museum of the Zelienople Historical Society, located on South Main Street near Passavant House. Built in 1805, it is the oldest building in Zelienople, where Christian Buhl and his wife raised their eleven children.
