Jeannette Area Historical Society intends to collect any memorabilia, photographs, articles, materials, or items about the city of Jeannette and the surrounding area, including but not restricted to Grapeville, West Jeannette, Lincoln Heights, Penn, Penn Twp., and Hempfield Twp. We would also like to establish a database of genealogical information.
The Jeannette Area Historical Society aims to protect, preserve, categorize, and index all collected materials and information. With the advances in modern technology, including laptops and personal computers, scanners, digital still cameras, and digital video cameras, it is possible to digitally store this information for ease of accessibility, thereby preserving the original items that require little or no handling.
Unless the Jeannette Area Historical Society shares all relevant information with the general public or those who need to know, we are doing a disservice to the community and surrounding areas.
