Warren County Historical Society is located in the Struthers-Wetmore-Schimmelfeng House, built in 1873 in the Italian Renaissance style. It is a solid structure today, but the veranda and balcony are gone. It proudly serves as the information center for the Warren Historic District.
The historical society headquarters is located in the center of this beautiful city, next to the Warren County Courthouse. There are 600 structures listed in the Warren Historic District, of which 85 percent contribute.
The purpose of the Warren County Historical Society is to celebrate and promote interest in Warren County history and to preserve the county's heritage for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations.
They preserve Warren County-related artifacts, archival and iconographic materials, a genealogy collection, and a Pennsylvania-oriented library by acquiring and caring for them.
They interpret the historical society's collections through exhibits, publications, programs, special events, and the maintenance of a library and genealogy collection for members and the general public. In addition, the society is involved with the community, organizations, and individuals to support and communicate the importance of historic preservation and the historical integrity of Warren County.
