The Photo Antiquities Museum of Photographic History boasts an extensive collection of photographs, primarily dating from the 1840s to the 1950s. Photographs from the archives are now being cataloged and digitized into a computer indexing system.
The Photo Antiquities Museum of Photographic History collects, as stated in its mission statement, within the limitations of our ability to provide appropriate long-term professional care for the objects. Collection objects must be in good condition and have been legally acquired. Objects with documentation or that fill a gap in our collections are preferred.
Contributions in memory of or in honor of an individual or family may be made to the Photo Antiquities Museum of Photographic History.
The curator may be able to assist with identifying or dating an object. They can also digitally restore almost any photo to its original physical appearance. They do not work on the original photograph.
Guided group tours of the Museum are available by advance arrangement. Copy prints from most images in the Museum's photo archive are available through our darkroom.
A wide range of volunteer opportunities is available at the Museum, with training provided. Volunteers lead Museum tours, present educational programs, perform data entry, light office work, assist with photo cataloging, do maintenance projects, and assist with special events.
