Big Mac Museum

It began decades ago, when Jim Delligatti became one of the very first franchisees of a fledgling restaurant chain. He opened Western Pennsylvania's first McDonald's restaurant and grew that single site into a hugely successful three-generation business.

It's this sparkle that makes Jim responsible for inventing the most popular sandwich on the planet, the Big Mac, which was created in Western Pennsylvania in 1967. Each year, The Economist Magazine publishes the Big Mac Index to contrast the value of foreign currencies against the U.S. dollar.

Thanks to "Mac"nficent Marketing, most Americans can recite the Big Mac jingle, easily naming all the sandwich's signature ingredients in less than four seconds. However, one question will always remain about the Big Mac: What exactly is in that special sauce? Jim Delligatti knows the answer.
