The West Overton Museums Archives, formerly known as the Westmoreland-Fayette Historical Society, contains significant primary and secondary historical information regarding the village of West Overton and the surrounding communities of Mount Pleasant, Alverton and Scottdale, its attendant industries during its active period (1810-1919), including whiskey distilling, mining and coal and coke, and of the Mennonite community that was located in this area. The archives also contain some limited genealogical information regarding the families that lived and worked in this area.
