Titusville

Titusville is a Crawford County town in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. Thriving since its inception in 1796, it holds a distinctive place in world history, boasting the first commercial oil well. Colonel Edwin L. Drake drilled this oil well in 1859, making Titusville the birthplace of the oil industry.

Located 45 miles south of Erie and 90 miles north of Pittsburgh, Titusville serves as a gateway to numerous outdoor recreational activities, including hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, canoeing, skiing, golfing, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. For example, Oil Creek State Park spans 6,400 acres and features a 10-mile bike and cross-country ski trail.

Titusville is a community that is proud of its past and sure of its future. It is an autonomous community where you will find, in a microcosm, most of the amenities of metropolitan life. In other words, it is a safe small town with everything you need. Every necessity and simple pleasure of life here is based on their high standards. Take your time, visit this wonderful town.
