The South Side Historical Village Association is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Early American life in the South Side of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. The South Side Historical Village Association acquires historic and agriculturally related buildings, artifacts, traditions, customs, and cultural elements within the village setting.
This Association is committed to promoting educational programs, tours, the display of artifacts, demonstrations of crafts, festivals, and other activities to attract related start-up businesses, foster job creation and retention, and ultimately benefit the community. This Association will also seek to become a repository for the history of the South Side of Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
Several other historic structures are to be relocated to the fairgrounds to form a historical village, similar to the one on display at the Canfield Fairgrounds in Ohio. A barn and three to four log cabins have been promised to the association. The association would also like a building for two antique fire engines, which have been donated.
The South Side Historical Village Association meets at 7 PM on the first Wednesday of each month at the Greene Township municipal building at 1128, Route 168, Hookstown, PA.
