The South Side Historical Village is located in Greene Township at the Hookstown Fairgrounds in Hookstown. It is an interpretation of Early American life in the South Side region of Beaver County.

The South Side Historical Village consists of a restored one-room schoolhouse, a working blacksmith shop, an 1800s log house, the conversion of a corn crib into a covered bridge, a quaint two-room doctor’s office, and a classic bank barn built in 1858.

The South Side Historical Village Association opened the Mercer One-Room Schoolhouse in August of 1998. The schoolhouse is located on a rural farm in Hookstown, Beaver County, PA.

The former Porter Blacksmith shop was recently moved here from Tuscarawas Road, Ohioville, Beaver County.

Hookstown Gristmill Stone

An essential part of the town during the 1800s and well into the 1900s, this gristmill stone was donated by Mr. Eugene Frasier in 2002.

Lincoln Highway Marker

This original marker, placed by the Boy Scouts of America in 1928 at the PA/WV state line, marks the start point of the Village Geo-Cache Mystery Tour.

You can visit the school each year during the fair. You can also see the school by appointment.
