Porter Blacksmith Shop

The Clyde Porter Blacksmith Shop was built around the turn of the century in the Fairview section of Ohioville. At some point, it was moved to its location on Tuscarawas Road. The building had been vacant for about 50 years. Although vacant for many years, some residents were opposed to its demolition.

The 26-foot wide roof was moved in four sections, and the four walls were loaded separately onto flatbed trucks.

The Western Pennsylvania Blacksmith Society has promised to equip the old building. Society members would like to perform regular blacksmith demonstrations for the public.
