The Railroad Depot Museum displays a historically accurate model railroad layout of the Meadville area during the 1940s and 1950s, railroad artifacts, and other exhibits to provide an impressive experience for all generations of visitors. In addition, it helps to preserve and display an early 20th-century tool shop and historical tooling artifacts.

Meadville Railroad Depot Museum provides a location for the Crawford County Historical Society to display historical artifacts and materials previously unavailable to the public. Moreover, it enables quality educational programs that share this region's diverse and unique cultural heritage.

It provides a memorable interactive tourist experience and has a significant local and regional economic impact on the local tourism industry in the form of wages, taxes, and jobs.
