Conneaut Lake, PA 16316
The historic Conneaut Lake Community Hall and former Police Station now serves as the Conneaut Lake Area Historical Museum with hundreds of photos and artifacts.
Nancy (Moyers) Helmreich created the eight-by-thirty-six-foot mural displaying the history of the Conneaut Lake area in the spring of 2005. After the Conneaut Lake Historical Society leased the former community hall, its members thought the exterior needed decoration and an indication that it was the society's museum. A mural was chosen as the option; Mrs. Heimreich, a former resident, agreed to create it as a voluntary contribution to the Society and the community. Earl Gross assisted her.
The Conneaut Lake Area Historical Museum welcomes all items with connections to Conneaut Lake, including yearbooks, report cards, business records, vintage clothing, photographs, and more. They will be glad to make copies of any pictures you are not willing to part with just yet! They are seeking a variety of items for display, allowing the younger generation to get a glimpse of what life was like in the past, and the older generations to reminisce.
