Irwin

Irwin Borough is located in southwestern Pennsylvania, approximately 35 miles East of Pittsburgh and 15 miles West of Greensburg, the Westmoreland County Seat.

Irwin boasts an active downtown business district, complemented by quiet residential neighborhoods and several beautiful recreational parks. It occupies approximately a square mile and has around 4,000 community-minded residents.

Irwin Borough was incorporated in 1864 and is governed by a seven-member Council and Mayor. It is named after John Irwin, who initially owned the land on which the borough is situated.

Irwin is a home of Brush Hill (Old Scull House), which is included in the National Register of Historic Places, and Brush Creek Salem Church and Cemetery outside of the town.
