Ligonier

Ligonier Borough is a historic town dating back to the French and Indian War at Fort Ligonier. It has been recognized by Country Living Magazine as one of "The Most Charming Small Towns in America" and by The Washington Post as a “Small-Town Charmer.” It hosts special events year-round, from Icefest to Antiques on the Diamond to Fort Ligonier Days.

The scenic Ligonier Valley, which surrounds the town is home to Idlewild Park & SoakZone – voted “Best Amusement Park for Children in the World,” as well as Compass Inn Museum, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Linn Run State Park and just a short drive from fantastic skiing and snowboarding at Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Hidden Valley Resort.

Located in the very heart of the town of Ligonier is the Diamond, a beautiful park perfectly accented by trees, flowers, and birds. There are park benches and the iconic bandstand, where band concerts and other events are held. The Diamond is surrounded by unique shops, businesses, and even our majestic Town Hall. The streets extend from the Diamond to even more of our town's shops, restaurants, and attractions in all four directions. The Diamond is appropriately named because it is a jewel in the center of our town.

When you take a look at our historic sites, amusements, special events, great shopping and dining, and charming places to stay surrounded by horse country and majestic mountains, you will agree that you’ve found the perfect getaway here in the historic Ligonier. One visit and you’ll see why many say they wish that they could live there!!
