King's Covered Bridge is a beautifully restored (in 2008) landmark of early craftsmanship located in the scenic landscape of Middlecreek Township, Somerset County. Initially constructed in 1802 and rebuilt in 1906 (unknown builder), this bridge spans 127 feet in length and 12 feet in width, crossing the waters of Laurel Hill Creek.
Though privately owned and closed to vehicle traffic, the bridge remains in excellent condition thanks to a reconstruction in 2009. Its structure features Burr Arch truss construction, a hallmark of strength and elegance in covered bridge design.
Located just off Route 653 (Sculton Road), visitors can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and make use of the picnic pavilion adjacent to the parking area—an ideal spot for a quiet lunch by the creek.
